Together, we can create a brighter future for Power in Change!
Power in Change was founded by someone of the community members who experienced the hardship and recognized the need for a local organization dedicated to helping homeless individuals, juveniles, and youths in need of guidance. Since then, we have grown into action, serving our communities with tailored services that strike hard into the problems we face. Power in Change is on a mission for change focusing on the young people who are struggling in school, being imprisoned, homeless and battling mental health issues.
Power in Change is for young men and women who are in low-income communities and have dropped out of school. Those starting down the wrong path are often looking for a second chance but because some of them have made bad choices they cannot pass background checks to get into craft and skill schools. Our program will help them get those skills and be better people in the community. We will work to place them with contractors in the city and private contractors to train them in skills to help them be successful citizens.
I am so tired of seeing the young people failing, ending up in jail or dying before their time. My vision is to see them have more opportunities to grow, learn, become better citizens and entrepreneurs. Power in Change will offer young people a second chance and we will work to change the old ways of just putting young people in jail or the graveyard. The program will last a year, with pre-evaluations every six months on how they are adjusting, and hopefully make whatever adjustments needed to prepare them for their ninety-day evaluation.
Our after-school program will be focus on study that need extra tutoring, help with homework, and a safe place for learning other needed skills
Our goal is to enhance existing skills or develop new skills within our students. Whether it is tech, trade, or social skills we'll make sure they are prepared for the workforce
Power in Change believes everyone deserves a second chance. We focus on homeless youths, juvenile or on probation to give them a second chance in life, in a safe space
We will provide resume building, practice interviews, while partnering with contractors, tempt agencies and workforce solutions to assist with employment for those need it
We take education very seriously. Earning a GED is a steppingstone towards college and the work force. It also builds communities by setting a good example of achievement
The mind is a terrible thing to waste. Being in a safe space to have a healthy conversation with a professional is good for your mental health. This is what we provide for our youths
Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goals and improve conditions. Your generous donation will fund our mission.
